House of Cards
…and with a small breeze,
all the cards fell down
and laughter erupted from a well of darkness
that was never there.
the suits and symbols,
like an intricate game
were just pebbles in the sand.
no more or less meaningful
than a tree branch bowing in the wind.
the tumultuous swaying of light and dark,
was only ever dancing.
