Wild & Free - Mimi & Boo Print by Sunni ChapmanThis piece was inspired by Peter S. Beagle’s, The Last Unicorn when I was a little girl, I watched this movie about 10 million times, and it was my favorite all-time story. Imagine how stupid I felt when, just earlier this year, I discovered that it had been a book this whole time!!  The book is so beautiful and so absolutely rich with symbolism and metaphors for the deepest truths, that I of course immediately fell in love with it much more than the movie. But the movie will always hold a special place in my heart as well. :)  I just love the illustrative style of the geniuses who animated it. This doesn’t come near to their renderings, but it wasn’t meant to, it has it’s own simple charm, and all I wanted to do was capture the essence of the truth that I gleaned from those pages, and I think in the end, that was well served. :)
